Dealer Notes
2016 Ferrari California T is a refined evolution of Ferraris grand touring lineage, blending luxury, performance, and everyday usability. As a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive convertible, the California T marks a significant shift for Ferrari by reintroducing turbocharging to its road carsa move not seen since the legendary F40. Powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, it delivers 553 horsepower and 557 lb-ft of torque, enabling 060 mph acceleration in just 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 196 mph. Despite its performance focus, the California T offers a more approachable driving experience than some of its more track-oriented siblings.
Aesthetically, it retains classic Ferrari styling with sculpted body lines, a retractable hardtop, and a beautifully appointed interior featuring premium materials and advanced infotainment options. Its updated magnetorheological suspension and revised steering enhance responsiveness while maintaining ride comfort, making it well-suited for both spirited driving and long-distance cruising.
The "T" in its name stands for "turbocharged," but it also signifies a turning point in Ferrari's approach to efficient performance. Emissions and fuel economy are improved over its predecessor without sacrificing the visceral thrill expected from the brand. Practicality is also a surprising strong suit, with a usable trunk and the convenience of a hardtop convertible.
Overall, the 2016 Ferrari California T is a versatile exotic car that combines everyday drivability with the unmistakable character and performance pedigree of Ferrari. It appeals to those seeking both luxury and exhilarating performance in a sleek, open-top package.2016 Ferrari California T is a refined evolution of Ferraris grand touring lineage, blending luxury, performance, and everyday usability. The practical Ferrari
By Walman | on Wednesday, May 18, 2022
I've always been a huge fan of the "practical" Ferrari's. I thought the Modial 8 from the 1980s was awesome. A drop top plus room for you and friends and groceries! So in my view this is the ultimate F car for me. A drop top, 2 2 with big trunk. I still remember when it debuted and I was floored. I can load up the golf clubs, pick up a friend, and hit costco on the way home from the course with plenty of room to spare. All the while experiencing top down cruising and the full sound of the intoxicating exhaust note uninhabited by a roof or glass. The suspension is beautiful. Hardly feel anything over rough roads, speed bumps or train tracks. By comparison, my fillings rattle loose when driving my 997 Porsche turbo over anything somewhat harsh. The front mid engine and rear drive makes for impeccable balance. I always get a lot of looks and compliments each time I take it out. Convertible Ferrari's are magical. And it has a reputation for being a "reliable" Ferrari that one could use as a daily driver. And many do... I guess that's why they sold so many. FYI years 2014 and 2013 are know as California 30 as they are 30 pounds lighter and have 30 more HP.… - 5.0
